Welcome setup (TenancyEngine)
First-time onboarding wizard for vendor organization admins. Complete required steps before the console unlocks the full overview.
Console: TenancyEngine console → Welcome (/welcome)
When you see this
Organization-scoped admins with pending onboarding steps are redirected here on sign-in. Platform operators without a vendor org context skip the wizard.
Wizard layout
The left sidebar lists all onboarding checkpoints with progress (step number, completion badges, and a progress bar). Only steps with console UI ship today; future steps appear in the nav but stay disabled until their UI is released.
Step: Name your first app
The first shipped step registers your SaaS product on TenancyEngine.
| Field | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Application name | Customer-facing label shown in the console and to your users |
| Application slug | Permanent unique identifier used in URLs and API paths; validated for availability as you type |
| Category | Tailors defaults and recommendations (e.g. B2B SaaS, developer tools) |
Create application saves the app and marks the step complete. Skip for now records the step as skipped so you can return to the overview — useful when you lack Applications write permission and need an admin to register the app first.
Plan limits
If your organization has reached its platform.apps.max cap, a banner blocks creation until you upgrade the platform plan or remove an unused application.
After completion
Completed steps show a checkmark in the sidebar. You can continue to the overview; manage environments, tenants, offerings, and billing from the main console navigation.
Upcoming steps
Additional checkpoints (team invite, billing connection, first offering, quick-win API call) appear in the wizard nav as the platform ships each UI. Incomplete future steps do not block console access once current required steps are completed or skipped.
